The second China Hotel Industry Development Summit Forum Hosted by Guangxi Tourism Bureau, Guilin Tourism Bureau and Nuoben Groups in Shangrila Hotel Guilin on June 23rd. 150 government officials, experts, business consultants from all over the world attended the summit. During the summit the current statues and future development of China hotels, the experience of modern hotels management and other topics will be discussed.

Yangshuo County of Guilin City won the Cantonese's favorite travel destination for 2011. Yangshuo winning will bring more tourist from Guangdong Province, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR to Guilin area. The event is hosted by Southern Metropolis Daily and supported by Guangdong Province Tourism Bureau and Hong Kong Tourism Board. The result shows the tourists' trend and preference.
Yangshuo County government is building its new public iamge by upgrading its existing 19 public toilets.
The original 19 public toilets were built from 1970s to 1980s. Now they are too old to catch the development of Yangshuo's modern tourism. Yangshuo government spokesman told the journalists that the newly upgraded toilets will match the star toilet standards with handicapped path and infant table. They will be more environmental friendly as well. The most important is that all of the toilets will be free for the public as expected. The project completed by the end of this year.
The 5th Guilin Rice Noodles Festival is being held in Xing'an County from the 9th to the 12th this month. Famous Chinese singers gave the audiences a wonderful show.
The famous ancient water project Linqu Canal which was built by the soldiers in Qing Dynasty(200BC) is located in Xing'an. The soldiers also brought the northern China's food customs into Guilin and created Guilin Rice Noodles.

The annul Guandi Temple Fair will be held in Gongcheng County from 12 to 13 June, 2011.
There will be a series of ancient custom events such as Guandi's birthday celebration, Guandi's worship ceremony, ancient Chinese costume show etc.
In ancient time the temple fairs conducted to offer sacrifices to the god of the earth. Today, it is a festival filled with hours of performances, fun&games and wonderful food.
Guandi is also called Guanyu. He was a general serving under the warlord Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han Dynasty era of China. He played a significant role in the civil war that led to the collapse of the Han Dynasty and the establishment of Shu Han of the Three Kingdoms, of which Liu Bei was the first emperor.

Summer holiday is around the corner. From June 4th, 2011 China Eastern Airlines will add one more flight for Guilin-Shanghai route and Guilin-Hangzhou route.
From the day forward, every day there will be 9 flights between Guilin and Shanghai route and 3 flights between Guilin and Hangzhou route. It will be more convenient for the tourists from eastern part of China to visit Guilin.
